Items and gear
Slots
Main hand, off hand (shield), head, body, hands, wrists, legs, feet, back, amulet, ring. The bag is endless; identical consumables gather into one stack.
Tiers
The colour of an item’s name is its tier. The higher the tier, the higher the level it asks and the stronger the item.
| Tier | Items | For example |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 87 | |
| Blue (level 30) | 23 | |
| Green (level 60) | 40 | |
| Violet (level 75) | 33 | |
| Crimson (level 90+) | 53 | |
| Rainbow | 1 |
Weapons and shields of high tiers glow in the colour of their tier, armour shimmers.
Requirements
To wear an item you need a level and the characteristic of its kind: Body for weapons and armour, Mind for staves and mage things. Not met – not worn. An item may also be for mages only or for warriors only (see Classes).
What items give
- Weapons – damage, attack (accuracy), speed of blows; staves strike with an element.
- Armour: metal gives much armour, leather more defence, mage cloth defence only.
- Sets give characteristics, health, mana and protection from the elements for every piece worn.
Where to get them
Plain gear is sold by the smiths and merchants of its step. The best – Voidiron, Lichweave, Doomweave and the Ebonwood shield – are not sold and drop only from the lords of the maps of war. A thing apart is the Rainbow Staff.
Loot
Items fall to the ground as a bag: one place, one bag; taking the bag takes everything. On the maps of war loot drops three times as often.
